Co-crystallization behavior of biodegradable poly(butylene succinateco-adipate-co-terephthalate) copolyesters
E-mail:
Block copolyesters composed of succinic acid, adipic acid, dimethylterephthalate, and 1,4-buanediol were synthesized, and their crystallization behaviors were studied using differntial scanning calorimetry and polarized optical microscopy. Adipic acid and terephathalate induce co-crystallization because of their structural similarity, forming a random block copolymer in which succinic acid is the major component. Spherulitic morphology was observed when the aromatic monomer was situated in the main chain.
