The effects of grafting bisphenol A or naphthalene derivative onto polyurethane with respect to shape memory and thermal properties
E-mail:
Polyurethane (PU) polymers were grafted with bisphenol A (B series) or digydroxynaphthalene (D series) to control the molecular interactions between PU chains. As a result of graftin of rigid aromatic groups, the soft segment melting peaks were reduced and the soft segment crystallization peaks disappeared. Furthemore, the tensile strength improved due to cross-linking by the bifunctional grafted groups. The two types of PU demonstrated excellent low-temperature flexibility when compared with the unmodified PU.
