On Friday 23 July 1993, the degassing line of filter B of the hyam reactor was ruptured due to an internal explosion. During the investigation that followed, many scenarios were evaluated. The final, unequivocal conclusion was that a flammable gas mixture, in which N2O was present, had detonated.
