mu-PIXE has been successfully applied in analysis of archaeological materials, it has many advantages. In this work mu-PIXE used in analysis of ancient Egyptian glazed pottery from Al-Fustat excavation repository have been chosen to represent different chemical compositions (fluxes and colorants) of glaze depending on its color. The chemical compositions with deterioration factors (humidity and temperature) worked together to make chemical changes on the surface of glaze. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
