Methodology for Simple Standardization of Sampling Devices on the Base of Involved Fluid Phases
In chemical, biotechnological and pharmaceutical production plants a multitude of equipment elements and system components are in use, which have a large diversity despite of many years of efforts in standardization. This article describes an approach to the standardization of existing components that are often repeated, here sampling systems. Based on the phases involved (gases, liquids, suspensions, and solids) and related process conditions an evaluation method with classification table is created that allows for easy comparison of the existing as well as new systems. The selection of the most appropriate solution leads to an in-house standard, which greatly simplifies the design, operation and maintenance and spare parts inventory.
