Determining Interwell Connectivity and Reservoir Complexity Through Fracturing Pressure Hits and Production-Interference Analysis
A process for analyzing production interference and interwell hydraulic-fracturing pressure hits for multiwell horizontal pads in unconventional reservoirs evaluated 10 wells with varied spacing in separate formations. Hydraulic fractures induce a high degree of interwell connectivity with a complex stimulated network that extends between wells and across different formations using the "fracturing wave" technique. Combining the microseismic and pressure-hit observations helps to manage the limitations and biases inherent to each method.
