The Properties Computation of Weakly Acidic Cation Cxchange Resin using the Potentiometric Titration
This work studied a method for computation of the main characteristics having an effect on potentiometric titration curve in ion exchanger/solution system. These are parameters of acidity of ion exchangers such as thermodynamic constant(p K0), apparent equilibrium constant and correction for the apparent equilibrium constant(b). For proving the theory, the carboxylic cation exchangers of a granular and fibrous type carried out an experiment on potentiometric titration curves in a wide range of concentration of the supporting electrolyte. And potentiometric titration curve obtained. An equation relation the main characteristics of ion exchange systems was obtained. As a result, it could be calculated to characteristics such as solution pH. supporting electrolyte concentration(C) and degree of neutralization of ion exchanger (x).
