Laboratory microfiltration scale was carried out to study the membrane filter performances with membrane pore size, influent concentrations, ionic strength and particle size keeping the other operation parameters constant. It was found that membrane filter performance changed with ionic strength of the suspension, but the filterperformance in higher suspension concentration was found less dependent on ionic strength of suspension.
