Growth Inhibition of Freshwater algae by ester compounds released from rotted plants
The amount of usable clean water is insufficient by water pollution and natural eutrophic processes. The algal blooming produce disagreeable odor or tastes in water, affect dissolved oxygen concentration, impede water flow and drainage or seriously hinder recreational use of the water body[1,2]. Therefore, experiment, the method of algal control which is selective to algae and is cost-effective and environmentally acceptable, was carried out to be certain growth inhibition on freshwater algae by decomposing of plants and to find the inhibitory chemicals.
