Purification of flue gases from combustion of solid fuels with sodium sorbents
Corn. NaHCO3 was activated by milling at 300 degrees C (speed 2000-5000 rpm) for 30 min to increase its sp. surface from 0.1 m(2)/g up to 4.2 m(2)/g. The activated NaHCO3 was used for sorption of SO2 from a model gas mixt. (SO2, CO2 and O-2 contents 2200 ppm, 16% and 6%, resp.). The activated NaHCO3 showed the SO2 removal efficiency 85-96% at conversion 13-16%.
