Stiffness and energy dissipation of poly(etherurethane) resilient elements
A new poly(etherurethane) was produced in catalytic reaction of diisocyanate diphenylmethane, polytetramethylene glycol and butane-1,4-diol in test bar and sleeve forms and studied for tensile and compressive strengths. Diisocyanate-to-hydroxyl group molar ratio was 1.05. Hysteresis loops were registered for 3 compression-decompression cycles. The bar samples were able to carry about two times higher loads than the ring samples.
