Studies on physicochemical properties of catalyst precursors for the preparation DME from ethanol
Samples of zeolites (clinoptilolite, ZSM-35, ferrierite) were doped with Cu ions (concn. 1-5%) by the pre-immersion in a Na-2 versenate soln. at concn. of 0.1 M, immersion in a CuSO4 soln. and calcinations. The Cu contents in the doped samples were detd. by X-ray fluorescence. The incorporation of Cu in the zeolites structures was confirmed by IR spectroscopy with Fourier transformation and X-ray diffraction. The total surfaces of doped materials were slightly lower than that of raw zeolites as detd. by low-temp. N-2, adsorption.
