Ligand exchange of manganese(II) macrocyclic pentaamine complexes: Synthesis, characterization, and single-crystal X-ray structure determination
[Mn(C23H34ClN5)] (manganese(II) [24-chloro-2,21-dimethyl-(4R,9R,14R,19R)3,10,13,20,26-pentaazatetracyclo[20.3.1.0(4,9) .0(14,19)]hexacosa-1(26),2(3),20(21),22(23), 24-pentaene), ([Mn(PAHP)]) has been synthesized and characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, UV-vis, and MS spectra Single crystals of [Mn(CH3CH2OH)Cl(C23H34 ClN5)]Cl.H2O and [Mn(H2O)(2)(C23H34ClN5)]Cl-2.CH2Cl2 were obtained by slow evaporation from ethanol-dichloromethane and 1,2-dichloromethane-DMF solution, respectively. X-ray crystallographic study of the complex reveals that the chloride ligand on manganese(II) can be substituted by oxygen-containing ligands, such as methanol.
