Development of Coatings by Photocatalytic Titanium Dioxide
To prepare binder for photocatalytic titanium dioxide, ceramers were synthesized by a hydrolysis reaction using silica sol and silane coupling agent. The optimum photocatalytic properties and physical properties of coating film found in this study are 2.5 wt% Degussa P25 powder. Also, photocatalytic properties of titanium dioxide coatings increased with increasing of the photocatalytic titanium dioxide contents. However, increasing of the photocatalytic titanium dioxide contents decreased the physical properties of coating film. In addition, the photocatalytic properties according to dispersion process were no difference between ultrasonic treatment and paint shaking method.
