Reaction of the Hydrogen-bonded Hexamolybdoplatinate Tetramer [H-23(PtMo6O24)(4)](9-) with Methanol: Formation of the Methylated Hydrogen-bonded Hexamolybdoplatinate Trimer [(H4Me2PtMo6O24)(H3Me3PtMo6O24)(2)](6-)
The hydrogen-bonded hexamolybdoplatinate tetramer [H-23(FtMo(6)O(24))(4)](9-) was reacted with methanol to yield a new methylated hexamolybdoplaiinate. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the methylated hexamolybdoplatinate forms a trimer through hydrogen-bonding.
