Facile synthesis of cyclotrisiloxanetriols ((RSi(OH)O)(3); R = hexyl and octyl) bearing a relatively unusual six-membered siloxane ring was accomplished by taking advantage of long alkyl chains. The synthetic method, details of the reaction pathway, and hydrogen-bonded crystal structure of the product are described.
