Palladium-modified polysulfonic acid-doped polyaniline layers for hydrazine oxidation in neutral solutions
Poly(2-acryalamido-2-methyl-propane-sulfonic acid) (PAMSA)-doped polyaniline layers are used for electroless deposition of Pd nanoparticles involving the polymer as reductant. The electroless metal deposition results in a homogeneous distribution of Pd nanoparticles on the polymer surface. Hydrazine electroxidation on Pd-modified PANI-PAMPSA coated electrodes in neutral solutions is studied in voltammetric and chronoamperometric modes. Linear concentration dependences are found in the concentration range from 0.4 to 4 mmol l(-1) in voltammetric and from 40 mu mol l(-1) to 1 mmol l(-1) in chronoamperometric experiments. The limit of detection in chronoamperometric mode is 0.42 mu mol l(-1). (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
