The relationship between polymer molecular structure of the skin layers of crosslinked polyamide composite reverse osmosis (RO) membranes and their RO performances was studied. The molecular structures of these RO membrane skin layers was designed using a computer calculation method. It was found that the molecular structures of crosslinked polyamides exhibiting good RO performances possessed relatively flat and uniform network structures.
