A note on thin-layer theory for Bingham plastics
The combination of Bingham-type rheological models with lubrication or thin-layer theory can lead to paradoxical results in that material which is below the yield point, and therefore, rigid, is nevertheless found to be deforming. The purpose of the present note is to show how these difficulties can be removed, and a consistent theory constructed, by the use of a suitably modified rheological model.
