Evaporation Processes of a Liquid Droplet of Ethylene Glycol in a Vacuum
A microdroplet of ethylene glycol was found to survive as a liquid in a vacuum much longer than anticipated simply by evaporative cooling because of comparable heating by thermal radiation at room temperature. This fact was revealed by measurement of an evaporation rate of the droplet up to 50 s by employing an ion trap.
