Ionic Polymerization of a Sugar-based Cyclic Sulfite: Synthesis of(1 -> 2)-D-Glucopyranan via Cationic Polymerization
1,2-O-Sulfinyl glucopyranose was used as a novel monomer for the synthesis of polysaccharide derivatives. It led to (1 -> 2)-D-glucopyranan through cationic polymerization through the elimination of SO2, while anionic polymerization was rather complicated.
