Direct measurement of near-wellbore halo effect resulting from tip-screenout fracturing
The full-length paper presents the findings of an investigation to determine whether a near-wellbore halo is generated during fracture stimulation of a well in a soft, unconsolidated formation. The investigation examines whether net-pressure generation has any effect on halo formation and whether the halo could be used by operators as an inexpensive way to control formation-sand production.
