Polymer nanocomposites as new adsorbents of dyes from the liquid phase
A polymer-matrix nanocomposite was synthesized by poly condensation of resorcinol and CH2O, functionalized with MeNH modified by impregnation with CuCl2 center dot 2H(2)O, characterized by low-temp. N-2 adsorption, studied for acidic and basic functional groups on the surface and then used as an adsorbent of the sunset yellow FCF and rhodamine B dyes from their aq. solns. The adsorption capacities of the materials increased with increasing the initial dye concns. The modified composite was the most efficient adsorbent of the dyes.
