The effect of sodium hexafluoroantimonate on the properties of the conversion coatings formed by plasma electrolytic oxidation of a magnesium alloy
NaSbF6 was added into Na3SiO3-based electrolyte to produce a conversion layer on a Mg alloy. The surface morphol. and anticorrosion properties of the layer were studied by potentiodynamic polarization and impedance methods. The Taber method was used to det. the abrasion resistance of the layer. The addn. of NaSbF6 resulted in an increase in corrosion resistance and a decrease in abrasion resistance of the produced protective layer.
