Epoxidation of propylene and cyclohexene with hydrogen peroxide using a "single-site" catalyst based on 2.2.2-trifluoroacetophenon immobilized on SBA-15 mesoporous silica is reported. Propylene and cyclohexene were oxidized with 100% selectivity up to 10% and 30% of epoxide yield, respectively. Such a heterogenized organocatalyst could be easily recovered from the reaction media and reused without any loss of activity and selectivity. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
