The Oxidation of Fullerene [C60] with Various Oxidants by Utrasonication
The reaction of C60 by ultrasonication with various oxidants such as 3-chloroperoxy benzoic acid, 4-methyl morpholine N-oxide, chromium(VI) oxide and oxoneⓡ monopersulfate compound, at room temperature causes the oxidation of fullerene[C60(O)n] (n=1~3 or n=1). The FAB-MS confirmed that products of fullerene oxidation are [C60(O)n] (n=1~3 or n=1).
