Distillery residue, sludge from wastewater treatment plants, biodegradable fraction of municipal waste and green waste were fermented to biogas (MeH content 52-62% by vol.) used then as a fuel for the dual fuel engine in tractor to study the fuel consumption and emissions of exhaust gases. The replacement of MeH by corresponding amt of biogas resulted in an increase in fuel consumption and CO emissions.
