Determination of Intersystem Crossing Parameters via Observation of Quantum Jumps on Single Molecules
Quantum jumps have been observed some years ago on single ions and very recently on single terrylene molecules. In our paper we will demonstrate that such quantum jumps are also observable if the excitation laser is scanned through the resonance line of a single terrylene molecule embedded in a p-terphenyl crystal. Moreover, we will show that the determination of the intersystem crossing parameters of terrylene molecules is greatly facilitated by analyzing the observed quantum jumps.
