Recently, a comment was published (J. Chem. Thermodyn. 106 (2017), pp. 216-217) regarding the calculation of the (molar) excess Gibbs energy of activation for viscous flow (AGE) in binary mixtures of (ionic liquids + solvent). In that comment, it was suggested that the functional form we reported was in error. Here, we show that direct substitution of Eyring's Theory of Absolute Reaction Rates into the excess Gibbs energy expression that the functional form presented in our original work indeed holds true.
