Glucose Biosensor Based on Mesoporous Pt Nanotubes
One-dimensional (1D) mesoporous Pt nanotubes (MPtNTs, internal diameter is about 50 nm) with different wall thicknesses (from 7.2 nm to 12.8 nm) were synthesized and used as carriers of glucose oxidase to fabricate amperometric glucose biosensors. The MPtNTs modified electrodes had good response toward H2O2. The response current of the MPtNTs based biosensor toward glucose increased with the decrease of the wall thickness. The as-prepared MPtNTs biosensors with a wall thickness of 7.2 nm manifested high sensitivity (3.19 mu A mM(-1)). Due to its unique structure and morphology, the MPtNTs based biosensor can achieve relative low detection limit. The limit of detection (LOD) of the MPtNTs based biosensor is calculated to be 0.2 mu M, and the linear range is from 0.025 to 2.20 mM. The value of Michaelis constant (K-m) is evaluated to be as low as 3.4 mM. (C) 2017 The Electrochemical Society. All rights reserved.
