Electric dipole polarizability of As-4, a challenging problem for both experiment and theory
An experimental value of 116.7 +/- 1.1 e(2)a(0)(2)E(h)(-1) for the Static dipole polarizability of As-4 is deduced from the analysis of refractivity measurements in arsenic vapor. This is in close agreement with the theoretical result of 119.5 +/- 3.6 e(2)a(0)(2)E(h)(-1), obtained from ab initio finite-field many-body perturbation theory and coupled-cluster calculations.
