Three cam. Al coagulants (basic polyaluminum chlorides of general formula Al-x(OH)(y)Cl(3x-y) and polymerized xAl(OH)(1.5)Cl-1.5 center dot x(SO4)(0.2)) were added to drinking water to remove its turbidity. The process was efficient for raw waters with turbidity higher than 8 nephelometric turbidity units (NTU). In the case when the turbidity was lower than 8 NTU, the Al content in the purified water was higher than before coagulation.
