Recovery of tin from electroplating sludges generated in the treatment of the concentrated wastewater from electrochemical tin plating
A concd. wastewater from electrochem. tin plating (3100 mg/L Sn) was neutralized with NaOH to pH 6.5 and then with Me2NCS2Na to decrease its redox potential from -265 mV to -387 mV (redox electrode). The concn. of Sn in wastewater decreased from 3100 mg/L down to even 1.05 mg/L The pptd. solid was dried, calcined and reduced with activated C. The total yield of Sn recovery was 63,87%.
