Effect of untreated Neuburg siliceous earth on the processing and granulometric properties of extruded high-density polyethylene
High-d. polyethylene was modified by addn. of 2 Neuburg siliceous earths (10-60% by mass) and studied for melt flow rate, heat distortion temp., Vicat softening temp., angle of natural slip, std. and bulk d., longitudinal and transverse shrinkage after prepn. of injection molded parts. The addn. of fillers resulted in decreasing the melt flow rate, Vicat temp. and shrinkage and in increasing the d. and angle of natural slip.
