Influence of chlorine atom on interactions between halo-hydrocarbons and 1-nonanol: Density and speed of sound measurements
Herein we have investigated densities and speed of sound for the binary mixtures of o-chlorotoluene (OCT), m-chlorotoluene (MCT), p-chlorotoluene (PCT) and 1,2-dichloroethane with 1-nonanol at temperature range from (293.15 to 308.15) K and at a pressure p = 0.1 MPa. In addition, the experimental data have been used to calculate excess volumes (V-E), isentropic compressibilities (ks) and excess isentropic compressibilities (K-S(E)) over the entire composition range. The measured excess properties were correlated with the Redlich-Kister Polynomial equation to confirm the accuracy of experimental results. As well, the calculated excess properties were discussed in terms of influence of chlorine atom on interactions between halo hydrocarbons and 1-nonanol. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd.
