The activated sludge with and without conditioning by flocculation was studied for sp. resistance under freeze/thaw conditioning. Significant drop in sp. resistance of sludge as well as relative moisture of sludge after freeze/thaw conditioning and filtration was obsd. The solid phase concns. in the surface waters collected from a ditch at the snow deposit site varied from 1.2 to 4.7 mg/L. In addn. a very low total P concn. was reported (0.01 to 0.08 mg/L).
