CI, Br and I - contg. pyridopyrazinoindole dyes were synthesized by condensation of resp. isatines and diaminopyridines in AcOH and used as potential photoinitiators for free radical polymerization of trimethylolpropane trialkylate initiated with visible light. The initial rate of polymerization was used as a measure of photoinitiation efficiency. The presence of CI, Br and I ats. resulted in increasing the polymerization rate.
