Switching Control for Parameter Identifiability
We consider the problem of ensuring the identifiability of the parameters of a multivariable linear system by means of feedback control. It is shown that parameter identifiability can be generically ensured using time-varying (switching) controllers. Moreover, this property holds true for any, arbitrarily small, data observation window. Some practical aspects of the problem are also dealt with, including controller design and multimodel least-squares estimation.
