The use of waste ceramics and polyester resins for the manufacturing composites with characteristics of constructional concretes used in the building industry
Shredded aggregates from recycling industrial ceramic wastes (grain size 1-2 mm) as well as a sand with similar granulation were used sep. as fillers in resin composites. The strength parameters, absorbability and water permeability of both materials were examd. The estd. parameters of resin composites were compared with each other as well as with literature values of cement composites with traditional or ceramic filling. The resin composites with the ceramic filler showed higher strength than the sand-filled ones and comparable values of the resin composites. They revealed significantly lower absorbability, water permeability and compressive strength from the cement composites.
