Model-Based Design of Energy Efficient Reactors
In this work, a model-based approach for tailor-made design of energy-efficient reactors is presented. For this, an appropriate quantity characterizing the energy efficiency is introduced and eventually used as objective function in the optimization. For demonstration, the chosen objective function is applied in the development of a novel reactor for aniline synthesis. As a result, the energy efficiency could be doubled compared to current industrial aniline reactors.
