Simplified modeling and parameter estimation to predict calendar life of Li-ion batteries
Calendar life is a key performance in the application of lithium-ion secondary batteries. In this article, the anode Li loss is thought to be the main reason for the capacity loss during storage ageing at full SOC. Based on this fact, a simplified anode solid electrolyte interphase growing model is built to predict the batteries' irreversible capacity loss. The model parameters, including time tendency parameter, activation energy and exponential factor, are estimated by least square method, using the accelerating ageing experiments data. Also, the lifespan interval is estimated by considering the data error at the end of life and models are confirmed by the long-term storage aged batteries at 25 degrees C.
