Highly efficient inverted perovskite solar cells mediated by electrodeposition-processed NiO NPs hole-selective contact with different energy structure and surface property
Herein we execute an investigation on introduction of the discontinuous nanoscale nucleis of higher optical transparent NiO nanoparticles with different energy structure and surface property onto the pristine ITO substrate as hole-selective contacts in inverted planar perovskite solar cells. The NiO nanoparticles are prepared by a controllable electrodeposition method, which can dramatically dominate the morphology and crystalline quality of the perovskite absorbing layers and tune the ITO surface work function from 4.9 to 5.1 eV reducing the energy loss, thus enhancing the interfacial hole extraction and promoting the device performance. The device possesses a relatively respectable solar-to-electrical PCE of up to 11.21% under AM 1.5G illumination even it is fabricated in air condition. The dominating effect of the as-electrodeposited NiO nanoparticles on the crystal quality of perovskites provides guidelines for future material optimization and device efficiency improvement.
