Gold nanoparticle prepared by electrochemical deposition for electrochemical determination of gabapentin as an antiepileptic drug
A simple and sensitive platform based on glassy carbon electrode (GC) and gold nano particles (AuNPs) was constructed for electrochemical determination of gabapentin (GB). Most of the conventional methods used for GB determination require the sample pre-treatment. The AuNPs were electrodeposited on GC electrode surface using chronoamperometry technique. The applied potential and electro-deposition time for the electrodeposition technique, have been investigated. Compared to common GC electrode, the electrochemical response was greatly improved for GB electrooxidation. The sensor response demonstrated that the AuNPs/GC electrode exhibited a significant electrocatalytic capability towards GB oxidation with the limit of 3.25 mu M.
