Possible Hard Materials Based on Interpenetrating Diamond-Like Networks
Interpenetrating diamondoid nets, where one diamond-type framework is formed by BeF2 and the other by SiO2 or GeO2, are constructed, and their electronic structure has been studied. It is suggested that these will be very hard materials.
