Two-hundred-seven advertisements directed by chem. companies towards chemists asking for job were analyzed to expectations of employers concerning the professional competence of candidates. The technologists, analysts and lab workers were mostly asked. In terms of soft skills, the employers esp. valued the teamwork skills, precision and scrulupulousness, as well as anal. thinking abilities and self-relience. The candidates are expected to possess English language skills. The hard skills were more specified. The chem. companies precisely defined particular professional competences in 30% of cases (for example, skills in the area of protein chromatog.).
