Synthesis of methyl esters through residual feedstock using acid and free catalyst - Proposal of new reactor
The study of esters using waste sources is of interest because compared with ordinary technologies and conventional feedstock it has lower cost. In this context, the present work studied the conversion of fatty acids present in residue from soybean oil deodorization into ester through an esterification reaction with sulfuric acid and catalyst free. A new batch reactor conception was built to convert fatty acids present in residue from soybean oil deodorization into ester through an esterification reaction free catalyst in liquid phase. This reactor is an option for the experimental measurement of isotherms for esterification, as it allows mixing at the desired temperature and rapid cooling of the medium. (C) 2018 Elsevier Ltd.
