Colorimetric sensor for detection of trace level Al(III) in aqueous medium based on organic-inorganic nanohybrid
A facile colorimetric sensor for selective identification of Al(III) ion in water was established with organic-inorganic nanohybrid, H of urea conjugated rhodamine probe 1. The receptor 1 was processed into organic nanoparticles ONPs and was immobilized on gold nanoparticles (AuNPs); the nanohybrid (AuNP@ONP) was characterized with various spectroscopic techniques. H on binding with Al(III) ion showed a naked eye pink to blue-purple color change with concomitant modulation in SPR peak (530-670 nm) in absorption spectrum. The present sensor displayed a detection limit of 14.2 nM and can be utilized to recognize Al(III) ions in real samples.
