Quantitative detn. of melittin by high-performance liq. chromatog. with a diode detector was validated. The developed method has achieved satisfactory linearity in concns. 20-500 mu g/mL. The correlation coeff. was 0.999. The precision of the detn. was high. CV less than 5%. Detection and detection limits were 0.5 mu g/mL and 1.5 mu g/mL, resp. The developed anal. method was recommended for a precise detn. of melittin contents in bee venom and pharmaceutical formulations.
