Conductivity and dielectric properties of AgCF3SO3-PPG
The dielectric properties and de conductivity of poly(propylene glycol) (PPG) with a molecular weight of 4000 mixed with the salt AgCF3SO3 have been investigated for a range of AgCF3SO3 concentrations between 0.01 and 6.0 mol%. Compared with other studies on similar systems, the conductivity is found to be higher or comparable in magnitude. In the dielectric analysis, two loss peaks are found. The relaxation strength of the primary peak is very dependent on salt concentration, and different interpretations regarding the origin of this peak are discussed. The secondary, lower intensity peak, which is only visible at low salt concentrations, is attributed to the relaxation of the polymer chain itself. To clarify the relationship between the parameter T-0 of the VTF equation and the glass transition temperature T-g, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was used to determine T-g for all AgCF3SO3 concentrations.
