Facile Indicator Displacement Assay-based Supramolecular Chemosensor: Quantitative Colorimetric Determination of Xylose and Glucose in the Presence of Ascorbic Acid
During the past decades, colorimetric detection of sugars in a low-cost and user-friendly way has been a challenge. The current study introduces the first effort to develop a simplified colorimetric chemosensor array based on indicator displacement assay of 3-nitrophenylboronic acid and two catechol dyes for simultaneous detection of xylose and glucose with the background of similarly structured ascorbic acid. In order to achieve qualitative and quantitative analysis, hierarchical cluster analysis and support vector machine-radial basis function were successfully employed, respectively.
